SPAIN

Our public high school is located in a small city called Huelva in Andalucia, southwest of Spain. We have two different educational stages: secondary school (12 to 18 years old students) and vocational studies for adults. We have about 820 students and 65 teachers, that makes us have a huge variety of people in our centre. Because of vocational studies, we have many labs, studios, workplaces such as kitchen, artist's workroom etc. Our High school is diverse and it is characterized by middle class families who are focused on and worried about their children education. Therefore our public school tries to satisfy our community needs. On the other hand, our post-mandatory students come from different places of our province. They often feel much motivated in learning because their families have a big expectations in their cultural development. We have to remark that in our centre there is a great foreign languages development with two different bilingual program English and French and we have been participating for ages in a International bilingual program called BACHIBAC. This is program is supported by the governments of Spain and France. Furthermore we have a very long experience about international programs with stable exchanges with France, United Kingdom and Germany. A group of teacher of different subjects decided to improve our quality teaching and learning competences of our students. That could enable students to learn more effectively in order to take the right choices in their future educational life. The ancestors of today’s Spaniards included Stone Age hunters from Africa; Greeks, Romans, Visigoths and other European peoples; Berber tribes from Morocco; and Phoenicians, Jews and Arabs from the Middle East. The ancestors of a good half of the people living in the Americas today – and others dotted across the rest of the globe – were Spaniards. The key to this great ebb and flow of peoples, cultures and empires is Spain’s location: on both the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean; in Europe yet just a stone’s throw from Africa. This pivotal position has entangled Spain in the affairs of half the world – and the affairs of half the world in Spain’s. So, we believe that all these history and heritages will be able to support socio-economic improvement via digital tools to promote for both Spain and European Union.
